| IN MEMORY OF SEBASTIAN
|
Sebastian crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 1st, 2003. He was finally relieved from his suffering due to laryngeal paralysis. He was still spunky on his last day, but we knew those moments were too brief to outweigh his discomfort. He was a wonderful companion - gentle, loving, and sweet - and will be fondly remembered.
11/18/00 - Sebastian joined our family on September 30th, not long after we returned from Alaska. We agreed to foster him since he was in a shelter in Brick, NJ where he had been since early August. He was surrendered by his owner for "running away" but apparently they just left the gate open since he comes when called and sticks close by, even off-leash. He was picked up a few times by animal control, often at a local ball field where he was begging for hot dogs (and he looked like he got a few since he was 53 pounds when we got him - and he's not that tall)!! He has since been on a diet and been groomed, so he looks much better. He is a very loving, snuggly dog and just wants to be with people. He likes other dogs, although he's very submissive so he won't play rough, and supposedly gets along with cats and bunnies too. We decided to adopt him since he's such a nice dog and since he's already 8 or 9 years old he would be more difficult to find a home for. He and Roman are not exactly buddies yet but they enjoy watching squirrels together.

Roman and Sebastian enjoying the playhouse. |
11/4/01 Sebastian has been a wonderful addition to our family. He and Roman now play with rope toys and chase each other around the house and around our new yard. He also came in first in his obedience class, although he will probably not be a Therapy Dog like Roman since he still gets too excited around other people.
